1991 Ford Mustang

Jeff Southard was born in Franklin, NC and now lives in Clayton, Georgia where
he is employed at Clayton Carquest.
Jeff’s car is a 1991 Ford Mustang he purchased that was a former state
trooper patrol car. The engine is a 347 Ford stroker motor putting out about
425 horsepower. The engine is fitted with a K & N air filter with a cold
air box feeding a fuel injection unit atop Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake
manifold along with an MSD ignition system. The car has custom free flow headers
with a Flowmaster dual exhaust system. The power is put to the road through
a 5 speed manual transmission and a 4:56 geared Ford differential. He has installed
P165/35R15 steel belt radials on the front and P295/50R15 steel belt radials
on the rear mounted on American Racing Wheels.
The suspension system is a heavy duty police package from Ford which gives a
more stable ride at high speeds. The car is equipped with heavy duty disc brakes
on the front and drum brakes on the rear. The interior is black and relatively
stock, with the addition of some custom gauges and the exterior is also painted
black.
Jeff is a young man and has been an enthusiast as long as he can remember. He
has been working on this Mustang for the better part of a year, and had it at
the 22nd Annual Gem Capital Auto Club Car Show in Franklin October 4th of this
year.
